PAEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

 

Natalie is an occupational therapist (OT) who specialised in paediatrics. She has approximately 12 years experience working with children, both as an OT within the private and public sector and also as an educator/nanny to a world famous Australian actress. With this experience, Natalie is equipped to provide effective and wholistic occupational therapy services to children of all ages, stages and abilities.

 

Natalie provides assessment (both standardised and non standardised) and if required, intervention for children to develop age appropriate skills in play, learning and self care.Natalie uses play and activities to develop a child's;

  • gross and fine motor skills
  • visual perception skills
  • sensory processing
  • self care tasks such as dressing and mealtimes
  • school specific tasks such as handwriting,attention
  • social skills

     

    Intervention is effective for the following;

  • learning difficulties
  • organisational difficulties
  • attention deficit/hyperactivity
  • sensory processing difficulties
  • autistic spectrum disorder
  • developmental coordination disorder
  • dyspraxia

     

    Natalie ensures home and school programme are written for further consolidation of skill development. She guarantees to liaise with all parties (eg parents, teachers, speech patholigists, paediatricians etc) involved as requested.

     

    Natalie also provides parent/teacher workshops for information sharing and empowerment. If you are interested in her providing a complimentary inservice for your child's school, please contact her to arrange.

     

    To make an appointment, a medical referral is not required. A phonecall or email to discuss concerns and needs is recommended prior to making a booking.

     

    Also, it may be possible to claim the fee through your families health insurance-extras cover. Additionally, you can obtain an Enhanced Primary Care plan from your GP which entitles you to claim some of the expense from Medicare for 5 treatment sessions.
